Popular Ghanaian media personality, Nana Aba Anamoah, has revealed that she is under attack for lambasting the government following the introduction of new taxes in the country.

According to the broadcaster journalist, the introduction of new taxes will have a negative effect on Ghanaians and the economy. She continued that, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) affiliates have refused to oppose the government’s decision. To Nana Aba, responsible citizens are supposed to talk whether they are happy about the government’s decision or not. She emphasized that NPP affiliates are well aware that the establishment of new taxes is a bad idea. However, they would never talk about it. Following all these rants, she decided to give the ruling government some free advice. She counselled the government to aim at improving the standard of living in the country.
In a series of twitter posts, she disclosed that a group of people Nana Aba termed as “attack dogs” called her names for criticizing the government. She stated that the “attack dogs” opened fire on her and called her an “ashawo” (a prostitute). Nonetheless, she would continue to speak the truth.
In another post, the general manager of EIB Network fired back at the “attack dogs” who tagged her as a prostitute. Unperturbed by the insults, she told her critics that calling her unpleasant names would not change the fact that they are “Attack Dogs”. She further sent a word of advice to her attackers. She asked them to find a new insult because “ashawo” to her is no longer an insult.
Just recently, the government through Mr. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, announced the establishment of six new taxes. This issue has become a national discussion where unhappy Ghanaians share their views on the issue. Many have pleaded on the government to revise it’s decision .
