South African rapper, Keirnan Jarryd Forbes popularly known as AKA has been confirmed dead by his family following a shooting incident on Friday, February 10, 2023.
Earlier reports stated that on Friday night, AKA was shot many times by unidentified gunmen outside of a renowned eatery on Florida Road in Durban.
The family of AKA has come out to confirm with deep sorrow that their beloved son passed away on the evening of February 10, 2023. They stated that his passing was unexpected and tragic. Also, the Durban Police have been contacted for more information.
“To us, Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, was a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend, most importantly father to his beloved daughter Kairo. To many he was AKA, SUPAMEGA, BHOVA and the many other names of affection his legion of fans called him by. Our son was loved and he gave love in return. In this time of grief we appeal for your compassion, space and time to congregate as family to decide on the upcoming days” the family stated.
Cause AKA’s Demise
Earlier reports has it that the rapper was shot multiple times and was confirmed dead on the scene outside of a renowned eatery on Florida Road in Durban.
About 10:15 p.m. on Friday, police said, they were called to a shooting.
While the rapper was pronounced dead at the spot, the police say another victim of the gunshot later died from his wounds in the hospital.
“ALS Paramedics Medical Services arrived on the scene to find that two males believed to be in there thirties had been shot multiple times. The first male showed no signs of life and there was nothing more Paramedics could do for him and he was declared deceased on the scene. The second male was found in a critical condition. Advanced Life Support Paramedics worked to stabilize the man on the scene however the mans condition deteriorated and he was declared deceased on the scene.
At this stage the events leading up to the shooting are unknown however SAPS and Metro Police were on the scene and will be investigating further” a statement from ALS Paramedics Medical Services.
The South African Rapper has sadly been confirmed deceased by his family.
