The NSS Registration For Defaulters And Private Candidates For the 2022/2023 service year is currently open. The Management of the National Service Schame (NSS) wishes to announce to the general public that eligible Ghanaians who missed the opportunity to do their National Service in previous years and now wish to enroll on to the scheme for their national service, have from Monday, 11th April to Thursday, 30th June 2022 to register.

Key Requirements

  • A Letter requesting a PINCODE or Reactivation of PINCODE.
    A Certified true copy of School Certificate or Transcript.
  • A copy of Deferment Letter (If Applicable).
  • An Attestation/Introductory Letter from Institution attended.
  • A copy of Ghana Card and Student ID with original Copy for checks.
  • Foreign students are to add a proof of Study Abroad.

Kindly Note:
The general public is reminded that the National Service Act, (Act 426) of 19B0 makes it mandatory for Ghanaian citizens, 18 years and above who have completed accredited tertiary institutions to undertake national service o the state.

Mandate of the National Service (NSS) scheme

The Scheme as currently constituted provides newly qualified graduates the opportunity to have practical exposure on the job, both in the public and private sectors, as part of their civic responsibility to the State. It also provides user agencies the opportunity to satisfy their manpower needs and affords communities that would otherwise have difficulty in accessing mainstream development initiatives, access to improved social services through community service.

Core Objectives 

  • Encourage the spirit of national service among ALL segments of Ghanaian society in the effort of nation -building through active participation.
  • Undertake projects designed to combat hunger, illiteracy, disease and unemployment in Ghana.
  • Help provide essential services and amenities, particularly in towns and villages of the rural areas of Ghana.
  • Develop skilled manpower through practical training.
  • Promote national unity and strengthen the bonds of common citizenship among Ghanaians.
