The Romanian Government, through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is offering scholarships to students from non-EU countries for the 2026–2027 academic year.
These scholarships are available for bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD programs at accredited universities in Romania. Applicants must have strong academic results (a minimum average equivalent to 7/10 or “Good” in their grading system).
Who Can Apply?
You are eligible of you:
- Are a citizen of a non-EU country
- Have strong academic results (minimum average equivalent to 7/10 or “Good”)
- Submit a complete application through the official online platform
- Comply with enrollment deadline
- present study documents issued by accredited/recognized education institutions in the country where they were issued;
What Can You Study?
Almost all fields are open except Medicine, Dental Medicine, and Pharmacy.
Bachelor’s and Master’s programs are taught in Romanian. If you don’t speak Romanian, a free preparatory year is provided to help you learn the language.
PhD candidates may choose to study in Romanian or another language, depending on the doctoral school.
What Does the Scholarship Cover?
Successful candidates receive:
- Full tuition coverage
- A monthly stipend
- Accommodation support (subject to availability)
- No application or registration fees
How to Apply For The Romanian Government Scholarships
Applications must be submitted online only via the official Study in Romania platform
Application period: 16th February – 31st March 2026
Results announced: Around 15 July 2026
After selection, admitted students will receive a Letter of Acceptance, which is required to apply for a Romanian study visa.
