In another quarterfinal game of the World Cup 2022, we have Morocco vs Portugal who will battle out in the field of play for the winner to proceed to the Semifinals.
In this quarterfinal fixture, football fans will not be seeing Cristiano Ronaldo in the starting lineup. He will be once again replaced by Goncalo Ramos in forward position.
Goncalo Ramos, in Portugal’s previous game, became the first player to score a hat-trick during his first World Cup start since Miroslav Klose achieved it for Germany in 2002.
Given that Klose, at the age of 16, set the record for most goals ever scored in a World Cup, the 21-year-old is in good company.
Morocco, on the other hand, will not be an easy team to compete with. Only an own goal by Nayef Aguerd against Canada is the only goal their opponents have managed to score against Morocco so far, including in the penalty shootout versus Spain.
If they can pull this off again, they will almost certainly be in the semi-finals.
On Friday, December 9, Croatia and Argentina managed to win their game to qualify to the quarterfinal.
