Former FC Bacelona midfielder, Gaizka Mendieta has advised Ghana’s Thomas Partey not to expect to be part of every match at Arsenal football club.

Due to a series of injuries, Black Stars’ midfielder, Thomas Partey is struggling to be consistent at Arsenal. His injuries have limited to just 19 games since his transfer from Atletico Madrid to Arsenal last summer. Last Sunday, Thomas played beautifully in 2 – 1 victory against Tottenham Hotspur. However, he was benched on Thursday until 57th minute where he was introduced into the game. They lost the game to Olympiacos.

According to Gaizka Mendieta, when we analyze football these days not many players get to play every single match. Mendieta told Goal that not everyone get to play because of the kind of competition that may be in the team. He furthered that a player’s number of appearances can also determine how often they are allowed to play matches. Gaizka Mendieta stated that Thomas may not appear in every match as he may expect to be. Therefore, he should anticipate that whenever he goes to a big club. This is because football is evolving and there are more than enough players featuring week in, week out. He added that Partey has to understand that football in the way nowadays. Since he is new in the environment, no injury would be able to stop that progression.

Thomas Teye Partey is a Ghanaian midfielder who was transferred from Atletico Madrid to Arsenal last summer. Ghanaians hailed him for making them proud. Since he joined the Gunners, he has made 19 appearances. Unfortunately, he is unable to fully show his talent to the world due to injuries. Even amidst the numerous injuries, he is still doing well. We are hopeful that he will continue to fly the flag of Ghana high not matter what the situation may be.
