Kweku Elliott, a Ghanaian actor, has come to the rescue of flourishing singer, Gyakie known in private life as Jackline Acheampong after Ghanaians bash her over her “Forever” remix.
On Friday, 19 March 2021, Gyakie released a remix of her banger, “Forever” featuring Nigerian top musician, OmahLay. Though the remix has great tunes, it appears Ghanaians are not happy with it as they embrace it with criticisms. Some social media users did not find the song nice. Others also felt the remix was needless. There were all kinds of unpleasant comments following the release of the song.
In an attempt to defend herself, the songstress took to Twitter to explicate that the remix is meant for a particular group of people. Therefore, those who naturally connect to the song, are the ones she made it for. Her response added insult to the injury. This cause people to flood her comment section with all sort of complains. Social media users found her comment rather disrespectful.
However, Gyakie seems to have a great lawyer now. Renowned actor, Kweku Elliott quickly threw his support behind Gyakie when social media users started blasting her. According to the actor, Gyakie and Kofi Kinaata are the Ghanaian artists he believes will bring Grammy to Ghana. He went on to advise Ghanaians to uphold and nurture the aforementioned artists in order to boost their confidence. According to him, Music is very relatable because it always tells a story and not a fairytale. He added that Gyakie has her own target market and he is part of the target market for sure. Elliott further asked the critics how exactly they were expected the remix to be. He finally urged Ghanaians to be a little bit exposed.
Gyakie is a fast-rising Ghanaian singer whose single, “Forever” is currently making wakes in Africa.
