France Scholarships

As part of its internationalization strategy, University of Paris Saclay  (Université Paris-Saclay) offers scholarship opportunities to outstanding international students to support their access to its master’s programs. While open to all eligible candidates, the financial aid is particularly aimed at students planning to pursue a PhD afterwards.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be international students and meet all of the following conditions:

  • Be admitted to a master’s program at Université Paris-Saclay delivered by one of the following institutions:
    AgroParisTech, CentraleSupélec, ENS Paris-Saclay, INSTN-CEA, IOGS, Université Évry Paris-Saclay, Université Paris-Saclay, or UVSQ
  • First-time enrolment in France
    (excluding exchange programs, Erasmus Mundus joint master’s without a French degree, internships, and language programs)
  • Under 30 years old in the year of application

Ineligibility

  • Applicants receiving more than €600 per month from another funding source are not eligible.
  • This scholarship cannot be combined with Eiffel, Europa, or Erasmus Mundus scholarships.

Eligible Programs and Level of Study

  • All academic fields are eligible
  • All master’s programs at Université Paris-Saclay are eligible except vocational/apprenticeship programs
  • Both M1 and M2 students may apply
  • For M1 recipients, the scholarship is automatically renewed for M2, provided all credits are validated and admission into an M2 program at Université Paris-Saclay is confirmed

Scholarship Benefits

  • €10,000 per year, paid monthly from September to June
  • Amount may be reduced during:
    • Periods spent abroad (compulsory mobility or delocalized programs)
    • Internships outside Université Paris-Saclay-affiliated laboratories
  • Travel and visa allowance of up to €900 per year (amount varies by country of origin)
  • Payments are made only after arrival in France and official enrollment
  • No advance payment is possible
  • Administrative and housing support is provided (Accommodation is not guaranteed; students are responsible for securing housing)

University Of Paris Saclay Scholarship Application Process

Step 1: Apply to a Master’s Program

Apply to an eligible Université Paris-Saclay master’s program before the scholarship deadline. Only candidates admitted by the deadline can be considered. Late applications are not accepted.

Step 2: Pre-selection by Program Coordinators

Selected candidates will receive an email with a link to the online scholarship application form.

If required, candidates must provide two referees (e.g., professor, coordinator, internship supervisor). Referees will submit recommendations online. Applicants will be notified once recommendations are received but will not have access to them.

Email applications are not accepted.

Step 3: Final Selection by the Jury

Applications are reviewed by a jury of experts from Université Paris-Saclay Graduate Schools.

Selection is based on:

  • Academic background
  • Personal project
  • Motivation to pursue a PhD at Université Paris-Saclay (for M2 applicants)

Special Consideration

In partnership with UNHCR and supported by MEnS, a bonus system applies to refugee students or those with subsidiary protection.

Eligible candidates should mention this status in their statement of purpose when applying for the master’s program.

All applicants will be notified of the jury’s decision by email. Jury decisions are final and non-appealable.

Important Dates (2026)

(All times are Paris time – GMT+1)

  • 25 March 2026 (11:59 pm): Deadline for candidate selection by master’s coordinators
  • 31 March 2026 (11:59 pm): Deadline to submit scholarship application and referee recommendations
  • Mid-May 2026: Publication of results
