Tess Curtis White born on 25th July 1899 in Chicago, Illinois in the United States was the mother of American actress and comedian, Betty White. Before she got married her maiden name was Cachikis. She died on November 11, 1985, in Los Angeles.
Her husband was Horace Logan White, and he was an electric industry executive. It was accounted for in the Cook Country IL marriage records that Tess got married to Horace on February 17, 1921. They were known to have lived in Oak Park, Illinois the same place that they gave birth to Betty. By 1925 they were known to be residents of Pascadena CA. They then went on to live at Beverly Hills, CA in 1938.
Tess’s parents were Nicholas Cachikis who was of Greek descent and her mother, Margaret Curtis Hobbs who on the other hand was of English and Welsh descents. She also had a brother by name, Thomas who was born in 1907.
Tess and Horace Logan had actress, Betty White as their only child. Betty White was born in Oak Park, Illinois, on the 17th of January in 1922. Betty became one of the most renowned females in the American entertainment industry. Tess’s daughter, Betty featured in many shows and events throughout her career either as an actress, comedian or a host.
