Nollywood’s popular comic actor, Mr. Ibu, whose real name is John Okafor, is currently battling illness in a private hospital in Lagos.
In a widely shared Instagram video, the actor appealed to fans for prayers and assistance. He’s been hospitalized for several weeks, and doctors have raised the possibility of amputating his leg if other treatments fail.
Mr. Ibu expressed his hope for prayers and assistance to avoid such an outcome. He emotionally shared his predicament, stating his reluctance to face life without a leg.
His daughter, Jasmine Okafor, also joined in the video, appealing to both individuals and organizations to help fly her father abroad for treatment, as he isn’t improving despite being in one of Lagos’ best private facilities.
Their efforts to cover the medical bills alone have proven insufficient. His wife, who also spoke in the video, shared her distress at her husband’s condition and added her plea for help.
