Three Technicians Dead At COCOBOD Reservoir

RIP

Something heartbreaking has happened at the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) office in Koforidua. Three technicians were found dead at COCOBOD reservoir. The Koforidua Effiduase District Police Command has started an investigation into it.

The victims, known as Mr. Ashie, Octopus, and Jonathan, were part of a team of five technical experts. The PBC workshop employed them to perform maintenance on a fuel reservoir within the COCOBOD premises. No detailed information have be provided with regards to this case. However, two of their colleagues attempted a rescue operation. This was after one worker entered the reservoir and succumbed to suffocation. These two additional workers also lost their lives in the course of this brave but unsuccessful rescue attempt.

Witnesses at the scene detailed the news of the technicians dead at the COCOBOD reservoir.

Dispatched to the site was a dedicated team comprising officials from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) Municipal Secretariat, Effiduase Police Command, Ghana Ambulance Service, and Ghana National Fire Service. Their primary mission was to safely extract the bodies of the victims from the underground tank.

The community is deeply affected by the deaths of the technicians and this has pushed authorities to conduct a comprehensive investigation.
