POSITION: Pressing/ ironing At Saint Prempeh Inventive Designs Ltd
DUTIES
- Pushes and pulls iron over surface of article, according to type of fabric.
- Adjusts temperature of iron, according to fabric type, and uses covering cloths to prevent scorching or sheen on delicate fabric
- Fits odd-shaped pieces which cannot be pressed flat over puff iron.
- Smoothes and shapes fabric prior to pressing.
- Measures fabric to specifications, cuts uneven edges with shears, folds material, and presses with iron to form heading.
- Pins, folds, and hangs article after pressing.
- Sprays water over fabric to soften fibers when not using steam iron.
- Places article in position on ironing board or worktable.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Know how to use industrial machine
- Must have creative skills
- Measurement skills
- Mark alterations
- Sewing skills and knowledge of tailoring techniques.
- Knowledge of of a range of sewing equipment.
- Knowledge of different fashions
- Knowing of human body shape
Qualification
- J.H.s
- S.H.S
- NVTI.
- Diploma.
