Number of Advertised Jobs Increase by 11.7% – BoG

The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has accounted that there has been an 11.7% increase in the number of job postings or advertised jobs.

The number of openings posted in various print and online media in October 2022 was higher than in the same period a year prior, which can be seen as an indication of rising labor demand in the economy.

Statistics gathered by the Bank of Ghana show that the number of job postings increased by 11.7% annually, from 2,734 recorded in 2021 compared with 3,055 recorded the same period in 2022.

Compared to the 2,611 openings posted in September 2022, the number of positions available in October 2022 increased by 17.0%.

The overall number of job postings, however, fell cumulatively by 9.5% from the same time period in 2021 to 2022, down from 29,380 to 26,595.

The strength of the Ghana Cedi, for some few days now, has been increasing rapidly indicating good news for all Ghanaians this festive season.

At the close of business on Tuesday, 13th December, 2022, the Bank of Ghana Accounts, $1 was buying at ¢10.3948 and selling at ¢10.4052 according to the average interbank rates used by commercial banks for transactions.

The Institute for Energy Security (IES) has also projected that the Prices of fuel and other petroleum products are expected to fall significantly beginning this Friday, December 16, 2022.
