Effective January of 2023, National Service (NSS) personnels will receive an increase in their monthly allowance from GH 559.04 to GH715.57.
On Sunday, July 23, the National Service Scheme’s Cooperate Affairs Department published a statement announcing the change or increment in the National Service (NSS) Allowance.
The announcement read, “The Management of the National Service Scheme has obtained government approval for an upward adjustment of monthly allowances for National Service Personnel from GH 559.04 to GH715.57, with effect from January, 2023.”
The release went on to say, “The approval, which was contained in a letter dated July 18, 2023 and signed by the Deputy Minister for Finance, Abena Osei-Asare (MP), was as a result of series of engagements between National Service Scheme, Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, and the Ministry of Finance.”
According to the announcement, the Controller and Accountant-General have been directed to implement the change.
According to the announcement, the difference in the upward adjustment would be paid in arrears to all active National Service Personnel.
All National Service (NSS) Personnels were also encouraged to be cautious in the message.
In addition, management has guaranteed that all allowance arrears would be reimbursed in accordance with the appropriate administrative processes.
