NIA ends Ghana Card registration at El-Wak stadium effective October 31

The Authority opened the registration center at El-Wak months ago to enhance the registration for the Ghana card and replacement of the card.

Effective October 31st 2022, the National Identification Authority (NIA) will end the Ghana Card registration at the El-Wak Stadium.

The special service center at El-Wak Stadium will be closed down from October 31.

According to the NIA, persons who have completed the registration of the card at the El-Wak stadium, and are yet to pick their cards should go to the Greater Accra Regional office at Kinbu.

The NIA said, “Applicants requesting update and card replacement services should visit the nearest NIA District or Regional Office.

Executive Secretary of the NIA, Professor Kenneth Agyeman Attafuah has advised those who are yet to pick their cards to do so to clear the bulk at their offices.

“We still have some card issued during the mass registration exercises in 2020. I was in Koforidua about three months ago on a monitoring exercise.

“I called someone whose card was ready to come for it. The person said it was not time for the collection of cards and that he would come for it when he required it,” Attafuah stated.

As NIA officially ends Ghana Card registration at El-Wak stadium, the Authority says it has currently issued 15,826,148 Ghana cards out of the printed 16,627,325 cards. As of the end of August, it had about 17,109,627 registrations.

In other news, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has admitted he is very much aware and not in oblivion of the hardships faced by citizens of the country.

He stated that while he is well aware of the economic challenges, he wants everyone’s help to lead the nation out of them.

“I have seen the difficulties that our currency has been having. I have seen the difficulties and dramatic rise of price levels, significant rise in the cost of living and difficulties generally, in the manner the economy is rising”.

“We have to understand that, all sectors and actors of the economy either on the side of management, labour and workers have to find a way of balancing the various considerations so that we can all progress and continue hopefully in building a stronger economy.”
