The National Disaster Management Organisation, NADMO has confirmed the incident of Earth Tremors and have also sent a message to the public.
This near-disaster occurred twice on Monday in several locations of Accra, including Gbawe, McCarthy Hill, Adabraka, and Mallam, according to the accounts we’ve gathered so far from people on Social Media.

“Today, 12 December 2022, citizens of Accra, Kasoa and their environs have experienced two (2) Earth Tremors in the morning and around 11:55 a.m,” the management of NADMO stated in a press statement.
It was further clarified that there were no properties destroyed as a result of the earth tremor on Monday morning.
The Disaster Management Organization added that they are working closely with the Ghana Geological Survey Authority (GGSA) to obtain the exact details of tremor including the magnitude and epicentres. The public will be duly informed of any development.
Call on Citizens to remain calm
NADMO, in their press statement called on all citizens to remain calm and to go about their normal duties.
They recommended that residents in anffected areas check their homes for signs of damage, such as cracks, and consult with professionals like engineers and building experts for further assistance.
“Information sharing is important but let’s be mindful of the kinds of information we absorb on social media in order to be safe and go about our duties without fear and needless panic,” the statement added.
