Declaration as Public Holiday

Monday, 9th January, 2023 has been declared as a public holiday in Ghana. The general public is hereby informed to take note.

It is important to note that Saturday, 7th January, 2023 marked the Constitution Day which was a Statutory Public Holiday.

However, in view of the fact that 7th January, 2023 fell on a Saturday, His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana, by Executive Instrument (E.I), in accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act, (Act 601) declared Monday, 9th January, 2023 as an additional Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country.

The Minister for the Interior, Ambrose Dery, issued a press release with the aforementioned information (Declaration) to the general public.
