The Government of Ghana has made a U-Turn to their interactions with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in latest news trending online.

In a statement from the ministry of Information dated July 1, 2022, the finance Minister of Ghana has been authorized to commence formal engagements with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to invite funds to support the country.

According to the statement, engagement with the IMF will seek to provide balance of payment support as part of a broader effort to quicken Ghana’s build back in the face of challenges induced by the Covid-19 pandemic and, recently, the Russia-Ukraine crises.
