Sadly, Mrs. Theresa Kufuor, the former First Lady of Ghana and wife of former President John, has passed away. She passed on at 88 years old.
According to a source close to the Kufour family, the sad news was shared on Asaase Radio. Madam Theresa sadly passed away at her home on Sunday, October 1st, 2023. This happened approximately 24 days before her next birthday. She has been sick for a while.

Madam Theresa Kufuor was born on October 25, 1935. From 2001 to 2009, she held the position of First Lady of Ghana while her husband served as the country’s head of state. Prior to becoming the First Lady, she worked as a certified nurse and midwife. Theresa and the former president met at a Republic Day Anniversary Dance in London in 1961 and later got married. The former president, John and Theresa, are blessed with five children named J. Addo Kufuor, Nana Ama Gyamfi, Saah Kufuor, Agyekum Kufuor, and Owusu Afriyie K. They also have a total of 8 grandchildren.
Mrs. Kufuor attended the Catholic Convent, OLA, in Keta, which is located in the Volta Region of Ghana. Afterward, she relocated to London and received training as a Registered General Nurse at the Southern Hospital Group of Nursing in Edinburgh, Scotland.
