GhanaCrimes on X (Twitter) has indicated the indefinite dismissal of 5 boys from Presec who were busted for engaging in homosexuality.
According to Ghana Crimes, two of the boys were recorded on video, while the remaining 3 were mentioned by their fellow students.
At first, the school wanted to remain silent on the issue and attempted to cover it up. However, the news began to spread after which the school authorities took action.
The school’s attempt to blanket the case left many in total amazement. A lot of questions have been asked. We are unsure as to why the school decided to react to the issue this way.
Details of the Presec students have been kept confidential as a way of respecting the privacy of these 5 boys as well as keeping them safe from stigma.
Homosexuality is quite common in single-sex schools in Ghana
Since our society does not endorse the LGBTQ+ community, all Senior High Schools across the country deem homosexuality a punishable offence.
Finally, the Parliament of Ghana has passed the bill with regards to LGBTQ. Therefore, the practice or promotion of the act is punishable by law.
