Alliance Française d’Accra is searching for a qualified person to fill the role of facilities manager to work alongside security and maintenance staff to ensure our buildings and grounds are clean and safe. The facilities manager oversees all aspects of building functions and guarantees the safety and functionality of all facilities. The role is full time, in person, fixed term contract (renewable).
Duties Of The Role At Alliance Française:
Your activities include running routine safety inspections, corresponding with contractors, planning maintenance work, maintaining records, and supervising facilities staff. The ideal candidate is well-versed in facilities management processes and exhibits high multitasking and organizational.
Other Responsibilities:
- Delegate cleaning and maintenance responsibilities to team members
- Run routine maintenance inspections
- Monitor interior and exterior areas of building for cleanliness and general conservation
- Prepare and implement project budgets and timeframes (Planning)
- Comply with all health and safety policies and procedures (fire, safety etc)
- Support maintenance and installment work as needed
- Maintain inventory of tools (plumbing, gardening, electrical)
- Supervise/ liaise with security services to ensure compliance with requirements
- Supervise/ liaise with cleaning services to ensure the work is adequately performed
Objectives of this role:
- Ensure all building facilities adhere to proper safety standards and cleaning procedures
- Maintain equipment and building provisions to meet health and safety requirements
- Organize and plan building installments and refurbishments
- Supervise facilities staff and communicate with external contractors and vendors
- Keep building and all facilities up to code and accurately follow maintenance protocol

Skills and qualifications:
- Knowledge in plumbing, electricity, masonry and carpentry essential
- Ability to do labor-intensive tasks
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills
- Great leadership and problem-solving skills
- • IT skills for report writing and planning (word, Excel)
- Preferred qualifications/ Requirements
- • Must be Ghanaian
- Certified Facility Manager (CFM) credential, or equivalent
- At least three years working experience
- Experience planning and maintaining facility budgets
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional leadership experience
- Contract handling experience
- Strong attention to details
Working Hours: 40 Hours per week.
