A new job opening is available at Pacific International Lines (PIL) Ltd. A Deputy Finance Manager, WARO is needed at the company’s Ghana branch.
You will be a strong business partner to the WARO Regional Head while also supporting the group finance team in their global transformation initiatives and lead on local strategy development tactically.
Main Function:
Financial Performance Management and Analysis
- Oversight responsibility to ensure agencies maintain accurate and timely financial records
- Monitor financial performance of each country, analyzing key metrics and indicators and drive agencies on improvement actions
- Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management and business stakeholders to support decision-making
- Reviewing AR balance and collection actions
- Conduct periodic performance reviews of the agencies
Financial Strategy and Planning
- Lead agencies to develop annual budgets and forecasts
- Lead agencies in financial modelling, scenario planning and investment appraisal to support business decision making
Control and Governance
- Lead agencies under purview in establishing and maintaining effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Assuring application of Group financial policies and procedures. Conduct periodic reviews to assess compliance with policies and procedures
- Provide assurance to management and stakeholders on reliability of financial information and effectiveness of internal controls
- Drive and implement Finance change initiatives locally, while also contributing to global initiatives as required.
- Liaise effectively with both internal and external auditors, facilitating audits and ensuring compliance with audit requirements and recommendations.
Experience & Qualifications
- At least 10 years of relevant Finance Controller experience, preferably in shipping businesses
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accountancy
- Professional qualification of CA or equivalent
- Experience in Principal/Agency accounting
- Senior stakeholder management – must demonstrate experience in influencing and working cross functionally and in a matrix group with overseas HQ
Technical Skills
- Strong in accounting standards, internal controls and procedures
- Expert knowledge in Microsoft Excel, with experience in reporting suites
- Ability to set up new business processes and to drive process improvements
- Proven technical leadership in system implementation
