An employment slot for Aggregation and Farmer Support Officer (AFSO) is open at the Ghana Commodity Exchange (GCX). The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Head, Value Chains and Product Development, and will be responsible for grain mobilization, farmer mobilization, and capacity building in the catchment areas of our warehouses.
Key Functions:
- Identify and support GCX members and non-members producing grains
- Mobilize farmers and support them with logistics and transport arrangements
- Identify new warehouses for GCX use
- Support GCX members to access services and products
- Promote GCX products and services among non-members
- Support farmers to access bank loans through the GCX Warehouse Receipts System
- Provide market information to GCX members
- Train farmers, cooperatives, aggregators and all commodity depositors in grain quality and standards
- Identify commodity sellers, traders, and middlemen in the catchment areas and support them to deposit and trade their commodities through GCX delivery centers
- Assist the Warehouse Officer in receiving, storing, and dispatching commodities, ensuring compliance with Exchange’s storage standards, maintaining accurate inventory balances, ensuring security and standards of stored commodities, and maintaining a safe work environment for all GCX stakeholders at the warehouse

Requirements:
- Minimum 1st Degree in Post-Harvest Management, Agricultural Sciences, Procurement, Logistics, or related discipline Good oral and written communication skills Self-motivation, commercial awareness, and initiative
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, technical, IT, and numerical abilities Experience working with farmers or communities/ groups
- Passion, will, and enthusiasm to work with farmers
