The Ghana Police Service will commence a new application procedure starting Wednesday, August 7th, 2024, for eligible Ghanaians who applied to join the service in 2021.
Available positions include General Duty Recruits and Graduate General Duty roles.
Key Requirements:
Candidates must:
- Be Ghanaian by birth and possess a good character.
- Have no criminal record and must not have been dismissed from any public service or employment.
- Be aged between 18 and 28 years.
- Meet height requirements: at least 5 feet 8 inches (173cm) for males and 5 feet 4 inches (163cm) for females.
- Meet the physical and medical fitness standards set by the Ghana Police Service.
- Hold a minimum of five passes in SSCE/WASSCE including Mathematics and English as of December 1, 2021
- Be willing to undergo basic Police training and other required forms of training.
For Graduate General Duty:
- Degree holders must not exceed 35 years of age and possess at least a Second-Class Lower Division Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university by December 1, 2021.
- HND holders must not exceed 35 years of age and have obtained an HND from a recognized Polytechnic or accredited Tertiary Institution by the Ghana Accreditation Board by December 1, 2021.
- Diploma holders must not exceed 35 years of age and hold a Diploma from a recognized Polytechnic or accredited Tertiary Institution by the Ghana Accreditation Board by December 1, 2021.

Further Details:
- Successful applicants will be notified for subsequent phases of the recruitment process. Vetting of certificates will occur throughout the process, including during and after training.
