A medical officer has revealed that medically, it is normal to menstruate through the eyes and palms.
Medical Superintendent has recently revealed that Menstruating Through your eyes and palms is No longer a Spiritual Issue.
He debunked the juju notion some people may associate with this medical phenomenon and explained the underlying factors in this rare case.
The Medical Superintendent at the Shai Osudoku Hospital, Dr. Kennedy Tetteh Coffie Brightson speaking on GTV Breakfast Show indicated that, ” what causes you to menstruate is the lining of the womb which we call the endometrium. So that tissue is responsible for you to menstruate. There could be a biological or a genetic error and part of that tissue could join the tissues that are responsible for making your palm making your eye menstruate.
The Medical Superintendent howbeit said many people do not consider the scientific aspect of the phenomenon since it beats their understanding. And true to Ghanaians nature, they will resort to spiritual consultation.
“It is not juju. The unfortunate thing is that our part of the world, we refuse to accept scientific phenomenon, so whatever beats our understanding as Ghanaians, then we attribute it to divinity. So there is a God interplay “, he said.
He explained people by ignoring medical advice end up damaging their eyes. “So before they come to the hospital, they have gone through all manners of herbal and many treatments. They come late when the eyes are damaged”, he added.
He urged women who experience such a rare condition to seek medical attention as soon as possible since such medical issue is not hinged on incorporeality.
Medical Condition Explained
Vicarious Menstruation represents a cyclical bleeding in extragenital organs (eyes, nose, lungs, stomach) and inflammation of the palm too during a normal menstrual cycle.
