GES announces reopening dates for SHS and Basic School 2022. The Ghana Education Service (GES) informs the general public, particularly parents, teachers, and pupils/students of public KG-Primary, JHS, and Second Cycle Schools, that the following dates for the re-opening of schools have been approved by the Hon. Minister for Education based on the recommendation of the Ministerial Committee on Schools’ Calendar.

When will JHS, Primary and KG students Reopen School in 2022?
According to the GES timetable, students of JHS 1-3, Primary 1-6, and KG 1-2 will reopen school on Tuesday, 18th January, 2022.
When will SHS Students Reopen School in 2022?
SHS 2 and 3 students will reopen school on Monday, February 7, 2022 while SHS 1 Students could enroll in their newly placed schools on Monday, April 4, 2022 although not fixed according to the GES Timetable.

ABOUT THE GHANA EDUCATION SERVICE (GES)
The Ghana Education Service (GES) was established, as part of the Public Service of Ghana, in 1974 by NRCD 247 and was subsequently amended by NRCD 252, 357 and SMCD 63. Under the forth Republican Constitution of Ghana, these earlier legislations have been amended by Acts of Parliament, including Act 506 (1994) and Act 778 (2008). The GES is governed by a fifteen-member Council called the GES Council.
