2023 Tier 4 UK Student Visa Checklist

UK Tier 4 Student visa application

The Tier 4 UK Student Visa is a particular category of student visa that usually gives people in the non-European Economic Area (EEA) and non-Swiss Nationals the opportunity to study in the United Kingdom (UK).

When applying for a Tier 4 UK student visa, there are some recommended documents candidates must prepare and be ready to submit. These procedures and documents are listed below.

The UK Tier 4 Visa Checklist

1. Applying for the Visa

  • Visit www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk and fill out and complete an application.
  • Make your visa appointment and payment (including health surcharge if applicable) online. Priority and premium services are also available for online payment.
  • Get your application and confirmation printed right away.

2. Preparation

Prepare and get all your necessary documents together. Kindly check the general documents below:

General Documents Required

  • Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS)
  • Financial requirements
  • ATAS Certificate is required by some students (It will be indicated on the CAS)
  • Tuberculosis test certificate from an approved clinic (check where to test TB to enter the UK)
  • Health Surcharge reference number (Issued once the payment is complete)

Financial Requirements 

Proof showing you have saved up enough money to pay for your tuition and living expenses for up to nine months, such as a bank statement, certificate of deposit, or withdrawal slip.

Before payment of visa visa fee online, evidence is needed that you’ve had the necessary funds for at least 31 days prior to making the payment.

UK Visas and Immigration will recognize funds held in a certificate of deposit. However, the CD must show that the funds have been held for at least 28 days.

Don’t provide a certificate or letter from your bank stating your average balance. The account must be in your name or the name of your parents or an approved sponsor. No other third party’s funds will be accepted.

Proof of Relationship

If any of the foregoing funds are in your parent’s name, you will need to provide proof of your parent-child connection. Original versions of the following papers are acceptable: birth certificate or adoption certificate. If any of the above monies are in the name of your parents or guardian(s), a letter granting you permission to utilize those funds is also required. Sponsorship

You must be sponsored by one of the following  in order to be considered a sponsored student:

  • UK government
  • British Council
  • Your government; or
  • Any international organization
  • International company
  • A university or
  • UK independent school.

3. Attend Scheduled Visa Appointment 

Get yourself to the scheduled appointment and fill out the application. Your passport, along with any necessary photos and supporting documentation, must be with you. A photograph of you will be taken and your fingerprints will be scanned. You may also make payments at our Jakarta and Bali application centers if you wish to use our priority and premium services.

Note: You need to be honest in your application for the UK student Visa and statements. Please don’t lie.
