Compared against Niger, Ghana had the more ball possession. In the final minutes of the first half, a goal by the Blackstars gave them the lead. That goal was scored by Alidu Seidu. As was to be expected, the first half finished with a 1 nil lead against Niger. The second half started quickly, with the Ghana national team leading until Oumar Sami levelled in the 81st minute. Gains kept coming in until a draw was the ultimate result.
