You can now apply for the University of British Columbia Public Scholars Award for the academic year 2021. The scholarship is titled Public Scholars Award; the scholarship award is offered for doctoral degree program for Canadian and international students. Doctoral students must be completing their PhD on something that will lead to public benefit. This scholarship award aims to build connections and capacity for doctoral students.
Successful students will receive a total sum of $20,000 to be used as a stipend and research purpose or to travel for research work. 30 to 40 candidates will be selected; they can renew the scholarship for the second year too.

Eligibility Criteria :
Candidates must be enrolled at the University of British Columbia for a doctoral program.
Candidates must be completing their PhD in a subject that will lead to public benefit.
Candidates can be Canadian or international students.
Candidates must not be more than 48 months along in their PhD as of 31 August 2020.
Candidates must have enrolled for their PhD at the University of British Columbia by 1 September 2021.
Candidates must have a bachelor’s and a master’s degree.
