The MTN scholarship program is designed to help teachers and students studying degree programs who are intellectually gifted but financially underprivileged. For students enrolled at Ghanaian higher education institutions, the program offers financial aid to help with tuition fees and other educational costs.The portal for submissions was open on April 1, 2025.
General Eligibility:
- Must be a brilliant but needy first year or continuing student pursuing first degree education in any of the public tertiary institutions in Ghana or under vocational and technical skills training
- Alternatively, candidates who may be professional teachers pursuing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) can also apply
- Candidates must be citizens of Ghana
- You should demonstrate excellent academic records
- Show good behaviour and be hardworking
- Demonstrate involvement in extracurricular activities
- Be proven to be without any academic disciplinary issues and must not be serving a bond to be of good behavior.
- Priority will be given to applicants who lived and attended school in Bono East, Ahafo region, Savannah region, North East region, Western North region, and Oti region.
Additional Information:
- If you currently have any other type of student support, please do not apply as applications will be subject to due diligence and an applicant will not be evaluated and, if awarded, will be withdrown if any misrepresentation or act of dishonesty is detected.
- Preference will be given to applicants studying courses in ICT, Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Analytics
- Women and differently abled students are especially encouraged to apply

For Teachers pursuing degree courses
- Apply online through this web portal
- Submit a one-page letter explaining why you should be awarded the scholarship, also include any projects or achievements you have made in the ICT/STEM area and details around what outcomes/impact to expect from the training.
- Be sure to highlight your educational and professional goals.
- Include your CV and a letter of recommendation from the school you are teaching.
- Include valid contact details, such as your phone number and email address.
