The United Kingdom’s Commonwealth Scholarships are available this year for individuals looking to further their education.
The UK government’s funding program, which is focused on international development goals, is offered by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC).
Criteria For Commonwealth Scholarships:
- Citizens or refugees of these countries are eligible to apply: Bangladesh, Belize, Botswana, Cameroon, Dominica, Eswatini, Fiji, Ghana, Guyana, Gabon, India, Jamaica, Namibia, Kenya, Kiribati, Lesotho, Malawi, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Montserrat, Mozambique, Nauru, Nigeria, Grenada, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Rwanda, Samoa, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, South Africa, Sri Lanka, St Helena, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Tanzania, The Gambia, Tonga, Tuvalu, Togo, Uganda, Vanuatu, Zambia.
- Candidates must be permanent residents in one of the aforementioned nations
- You should be available to take a master’s program by September 2025 in the UK
- Applicants must be unable to afford education in the United Kingdom
- By September 2025, youmust have a first degree with a least second class upper honors or or a postgraduate degree that is useful and lower second-class, typically a Master’s degree. Please note that, normally, the CSC wouldn’t pay for a second master’s degree. Those who are applying for a second Master’s degree need to explain why they want to pursue this course of study.

Supporting Documentation:
- Proof of citizenship (ie. A copy of your passport or national ID showing clearly your photo, date of birth and nationality)
- Full academic transcripts of all higher education qualifications (If you are currently studying a course, kindly include your transcript up-to-date)
- References from a minimum of two people, signed in PDF format, on official institutional letterhead, or in an email with the sender’s details prominently displayed.
- Applications from non-permanent residents in commonwealth states will be rejected
Grounds For Disqualification:
- If by the closing date, all required documents are not submitted, applicants will be deemed unfit for the award
- All applicants who submit support materials outside of the online application is automatically disqualified

Award Benefits:
- Selected persons will enjoy a free two-way flight tickets to and from the UK
- Full tuition fees will be covered
- Living a stipend will be provided monthly at the rate of £1,378 (quotations based on current levels) or £1,690 for students attending universities in the London metropolitan area.
- Where applicable, you will be given warm clothes allowance
- You will receive study travel grant to help pay for study-related domestic or international journeys.
- If an awardee has children but is widowed, divorced or a single parent , they will receive a child allowance for £590 per month for the first child and £146 monthly for the second and third children under 16 years of age. These monies are guaranteed, if the children move to the UK with the scholar.
- Disabled scholars who make it know to CSC about their condition will be assessed for their needs and eligibility for additional financial support
