Brooke Baldwin is a Grammy Award-winning journalist and author from the United States. She hosts CNN Newsroom with Brooke Baldwin on weekdays from 3 to 4 p.m. ET. She is also the creator and anchor of the CNN digital series “American Woman,” which focuses on the stories of trailblazing women who have broken down boundaries in their areas and are now helping other women do the same. Baldwin joined CNN in 2008.

Baldwin holds a journalism and Spanish bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She studied at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City while at UNC.

For that interview, Baldwin and her crew were nominated for a Peabody Award finalist. Baldwin was nominated for an Emmy in 2014 for its coverage of the NYC chokehold death demonstrations. In 2013, she reported live from the Golden Globe Awards red carpet and travelled to Washington to cover President Barack Obama’s second inauguration. For three weeks in the spring, Baldwin hosted comprehensive special coverage of the Boston Marathon bombings.

During the next three months, she returned to Boston to interview survivors and hosted a special live broadcast from Fenway Park during the World Series. Baldwin also reported from the field in Moore, Oklahoma, and Cleveland, amid tornado debris, on the release of three women who had been held captive for a decade. Baldwin also joined CNN’s Jake Tapper for exclusive coverage of Capitol Hill’s historic government shutdown.

She broadcast live from Newtown, Connecticut, in the days following the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting in 2012. She was chosen to co-anchor the network’s global coverage of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee alongside Piers Morgan in London. Baldwin hosted live coverage of the Arab Spring, the Japanese earthquake and tsunami, the Benghazi incident, and Osama bin Laden’s assassination.

Baldwin is a news anchor as well as an author; her debut book, HUDDLE: How Women Unlock Their Collective Power, will be published by HarperCollins on April 6, 2021.
