Alex Jay (Alex Andrew Jay) was born in Edinburgh, South Africa, on June 4, 1961. He is a media personality who hosted SABC 3’s quiz show The Hot Seat.

Alex, a Radio Hall of Famer, epitomizes what a South African great is, having spent 37 years on the airwaves and still going strong! Alex likes listening to Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, Steely Dan, The Roots, and The Black Keys, among other artists. Alex enjoys spending time on the golf course when he is not conducting a radio show. He’s also a well-known coffee connoisseur.
He presently broadcasts the noon program on Jacaranda FM, as well as playing Classic Hits from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s on East Coast Gold’s 10am to 2pm Saturday show.

Alex went on to wit techs to earn a certificate in theater technology and continued his education at the SABC, where he completed all of their R.A.B audio technology programmes.
