President Akuffo-Addo Urges Students To Keep Strong Morals

During the 2023 President’s Independence Day Awards ceremony in Accra, President Akuffo-Addo encouraged Ghanaian students to maintain high moral values in their academic pursuits.

He emphasized the importance of honesty, integrity and hard work, stating that these values were crucial for academic success. The President highlighted the responsibility of the youth to ensure that Ghana became a self-reliant nation. One that mobilized its own resources to meet its needs.

President Akuffo Addo praised the 72 students who received certificates of honor at the awards ceremony for their exceptional academic performances in the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Since its inception in 1993, the President’s Independence Day Awards annually rewards brilliant students between from all regions of Ghana based on their outstanding academic achievements in the BECE.

The President expressed his pride in interacting with talented and brilliant individuals like the awardees. He also assured Ghanaians that the country’s future was in safe hands.

President Akuffo-Addo pledged his government’s commitment to prioritizing access to quality education for all children in Ghana. He called education the “equalizer of opportunity”. He also encouraged the awardees to continue striving for excellence in their future career development.
