The National Media Commission (NMC) condemned Onua TV’s broadcast, considering it perilous and unprofessional. In a statement signed by George Sarpong, the NMC Executive Secretary, the regulator declared the urgency for media house to enhance its broadcast quality and regulatory compliance.

The NMC specifically calls for an apology from Onua Radio/TV to the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) and his commanders for the offensive language used. Additionally, they demand an apology to the Ghanaian public for the inappropriate language employed.

The NMC sets a deadline of November 19, 2023, for Onua Radio/TV to implement the recommended measures and furnish evidence of compliance. Failure to do so will result in consequences.

It is therefore important for media outlets to adapt responsible broadcasting with regulatory bodies ensuring the strict adherence to the professional standards in the media space.
