The Ministry of Interior has been granted financial clearance to enable the Comptroller-General, Ghana Immigration Service recruit two thousand (2,000) personnel to augment the staffing position of the Service.
The emoluments of the personnel should be charged against the Compensation of Employees vote of the Ghana Immigration Service under the Ministry of the Interior in the 2021 Annual Estimates.
The Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service is to ensure that the personnel have their documents processed in time and placed on the Mechanized Payroll early enough to enable the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department effect payment of their salaries.
The effective date of the appointed personnel should not be earlier than 1 August, 2021.
By a copy of this letter, the Controller and Accountant-General is requested to effect the payment of their salaries and make appropriate deductions of Social Security and Income Tax to SSNIT and the Domestic Tax Division of Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) respectively.
Please note that the financial dearance expires at the end of 31 December, 2021 and cannot be used thereafter.
