The Foreign Affairs Ministry has brought out a statement today and in it has Ghana condemning Hamas attacks on Israel.
Today is literally Israel’s deadliest day in many years. These follow a prolonged period of escalating violence between Palestinians and Israelis. This pushed the decades-old conflict into unfamiliar and perilous territory.
“Ghana unequivocally condemns the attacks and calls on the Hamas leadership to immediately cease the attacks and withdraw its militants from southern Israel. While Ghana affirms its support for Israel’s right to exist and defend itself, it calls on the Israeli government to exercise restraint in its response to Hamas’ attacks.” the statement read.
More-so, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs encouraged the two sides to resolve the situation by returning to the negotiating table instead of choosing violence.
The United Nations is projected to intervene within the shortest possible time as tensions continue to build in this region. The intervention will help ensure that the conflict doesn’t develop into something worse. Any further harm will likely hit the economy worldwide which isn’t such great news for any country.
