The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) have officially announced the resumption of the 2025/2026 recruitment exercise within the Greater Accra Region. The process, which was previously suspended, is now set to continue on Thursday, 20th November 2025. This update was issued through a press release from the Department of Public Relations at the General Headquarters, Burma Camp, Accra.
Screening to Take Place at 5 Key Locations
To ensure a smooth and efficient recruitment exercise, the GAF has designated five main locations across the region. These locations will operate a total of eight sub-centres to accommodate applicants:
El-Wak Stadium – 2 Centres
Nicholson Park, Burma Camp – 2 Centres
Air Force Base, Burma Camp
Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Teshie – 2 Centres
Eastern Naval Command, Tema
Applicants will be processed in batches of 600, with each candidate receiving an SMS notification specifying their reporting date, batch, and centre. The Armed Forces strongly encourage all applicants to regularly check the recruitment portal for updates.
Helpline for Applicants Who Do Not Receive Notifications

Non-applicants will not be permitted entry into any of the screening centres, and family members are cautioned against accompanying candidates to avoid congestion.

Board of Inquiry Investigates Recent Recruitment Stampede
Following a recent incident involving a stampede during the recruitment exercise, the GAF has established a Board of Inquiry to investigate the circumstances. For fairness and transparency, the entire Greater Accra Recruitment Team has been replaced.
New appointments include:
Commodore FA Nyarko
Colonel F. Kusi-Darko
Colonel GB Eduah
These officials now serve as Director General Human Resource, Director Manpower, and Director Information Technology, respectively. The GAF assures the public that anyone found culpable will face appropriate sanctions.
Support for the Injured and Bereaved Families
The Ghana Armed Forces expressed deep regret over the unfortunate incident and have extended condolences to affected families. The injured are receiving free medical care at the 37 Military Hospital until full recovery. Additionally, the GAF has pledged a special recruitment package for all injured individuals once they recover, as well as support for bereaved families.
GAF Calls for Public Cooperation
Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin, Acting Director General of Public Relations, emphasized the Armed Forces’ reliance on the cooperation of the general public to ensure a successful recruitment process.
