The Electricity Company of Ghana, ECG has released a nationwide schedule ‘Dumsor’ that goes into effect today, March 31, 2023.
According to a press statement issued by the Electricity Company, the Ghana National Gas Company plans to perform maintenance on the Atuabo gas processing plant. Because of this maintenance action, this situation has arisen.
As a result of the drill, gas supplies for power generation could be disrupted, leading to a shortfall of about 150 megawatts.
This will decrease ECG’s total available power supply until Friday, April 7, 2023.
According to the document seen by Everydaynewsgh, the operation will have an impact on the ECG areas of Accra, Volta, Ashanti, Eastern, Central, Western, and Tema.
A, B, C, and D blocks further divide the region into smaller sections. All of them will go dark between March 30 and April 7, 2023, under a predetermined schedule.
The nationwide ‘dumsor’ as scheduled by the ECG, will take place between the hours of 6 and 11 at night.
There will be three separate power outages, but just in the A block. The remaining blocks will go through two rounds each as planned.
The general public is hereby encouraged to note this new 9-day development and plan accordingly to prevent further inconveniences or damage of foods and appliances.
