An exciting job vacancy is available at the Bible Society of Ghana. The Society is currently search for a WASSA Bible Translator.
Key Duties:
- Translate the Bible into the WaSSA language
- Prepare annual plans for translation activities
- Complete daily report form for the team coordinator to endorse
- Prepare monthly work plans and report
- Prepare and draft translation of the Bible into Wassa for internal review
- Facilitate and participate in community review sessions
- Attend workshops organised as part of the Bible translation exercise
- Be a BSG ambassador or representative in the Wassa community towards the Wassa Bible translation project
- Engage in advocacy for the scriptures being translated

Qualification & Experience Required:
Competencies
- A minimum of first degree in Linguistics, Theology, Translation or equivalent professional qualification
- Proficiency in computer software programmes and familiarity with e-mail and the internet
- Ability to work in a team
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to relate effectively with people, the church and other stakeholders
- Pays attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines and ensure quality of work
- Integrity – truthful, trustworthy and reliable
- Ability to read, write and speak the Wassa language
