Anglogold Ashanti has opened its portal for new job entries. The service of a Ports Officer is needed at the mining company.
The incumbent will be responsible for handling exports for offsite repairs of spares and equipment from the mines through the air and sea ports, the export of bullion for the Obuasi and Iduapriem mines, and transit cargo en route to Siguiri Mines, along with other related tasks.
Main Accountabilities:
- Assess risks for all tasks and ensure they are controlled before and during task execution.
- Report all incidents and ensure they have been investigated and corrective actions completed on time.
- Act on all corrective actions assigned to you or under your jurisdiction and ensure timely completion.
- Investigate all operational incidents in assigned work areas and prepare reports with recommendations for your supervisor. for onward submission to management.
- Ensure commodity tariff classification for statutory customs duty payments.
- Ensure customs ICUMS declarations processing and Procedure coding.

Candidate’s Background:
Qualification
- A Bachelor Degree or Diploma in a Professional Field of study.
- Possession of CILT or CIPS certificate will be an advantage
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience preferably in the area of clearing and logistics
- Demonstrate working knowledge in customs, clearing and terminal operations
Technical Competencies
- Should have a satisfactory oral communication and report writing skills
- Demonstrate good computer literacy
- Should possess good interpersonal skills
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of principle and methods for moving goods by air, sea and road
- General exposure to business will be an added advantage
- Experience in safety, health and environment management in the workplace
