Abosso Goldfields Limited has an amazing career opening. The organization is looking for a dedicated Procurement Officer to be part of the Supply Chain team. Reporting to the Supply Chain Coordinator, you will use your experience and judgment to manage the procurement process efficiently and cost-effectively. Your work will help keep operations running smoothly by ensuring that purchase orders are placed on time and according to company policies and procedures.
What you will do
In this role, you will:
- Work strictly in line with Gold Fields’ Supply Chain Management policies, procedures, and ethical standards
- Request and review quotations from approved suppliers and maintain positive communication with them
- Select the most suitable suppliers based on cost, quality, and reliability
- Ensure suppliers deliver their goods and services within agreed timelines
- Carefully check purchase requests and specifications to avoid errors
- Fast-track both local and international purchases, including reagents, lubricants, and safety equipment
- Work closely with freight forwarders to speed up cargo delivery when needed
- Prepare and review pre-payments for local and foreign suppliers for approval
Who they are looking for
This role will suit someone who brings both technical expertise and the right attitude. You should have:
- A tertiary qualification in Purchasing and Supply or a related discipline
- At least five (5) years’ experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Logistics Management — ideally in the mining or extractive sector
- Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office and SAP
- A proactive, self-driven personality with the ability to put in the effort needed to achieve results
- A solid understanding of Supply Chain regulations and best practices
- Good communication skills, with the ability to work comfortably with people from different cultures and professional backgrounds
- Medical fitness for the role and working environment
- A valid Ghanaian driver’s license
