There is a Day Job At Apex Shipping & Commercial Company Limited (ASCO). The company is looking for an experienced Commodities buyer to develop our Commodities Trading desk.

Role Overview:

• The role has the primary responsibility of identifying markets to purchase commodities such as Cashew, Sesame, yellow maize and other seasonal crops.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identity bulk producers.
• Research prospects and generating leads.
• Contact potential and existing customers on the phone, by email, and in person.
• Handle customer questions, inquiries, and complaints.
• Prepare and send quotes and proposals
• Build and maintain a Customer database.
• Meet daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
• Participate in sales team meetings.
• Prepare sales reports to Supervisor

Key Competencies:

• Ability to identify good crops
• Excellent customer service and sales skills
• Strong verbal and written communicator
• Excellent phone and presentation skills
• Good negotation and problem-solving skills
• Self-starter with focus and drive

Preferred Qualification & Experience:

• No University Degree required
• Proven track record as a known trader of commodities
• A minimum three (3) years’ relevant proven experience in sales management
