In a shocking Premier League encounter, Liverpool have inflicted a crushing 7-0 defeat on Manchester United.
This defeat is the heaviest the Red Devils have faced since 1931 when they lost to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The scoreline is completely unexpected. This owes to the fact that Manchester United have been of good form recently. On the other hand, Liverpool haven’t had as much as an impressive form as Man U in a while now.
Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville expressed his disappointment in the team’s performance, calling it an “absolute disgrace” and “shambles”. Neville added that the current United manager, Erik Ten Hag, will need to address the team’s issues and get them back to their usual form and spirit.
Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo opened the scoring for his side with a powerful strike through a crowd of players after cutting in from the left-wing. The player, who was previously linked with a move to Manchester United before joining Liverpool, did brilliantly to put the hosts ahead.

However, Liverpool did not stop there and showed their dominance despite their difficulties this season. Gakpo went on to score his second goal after rounding off a terrific counter-attack and meeting Salah’s low cross with a delightful dinked chip over David de Gea.
Salah was Liverpool’s next goalscorer. He smashed his shot in off the crossbar after another counter-attack that tormented United’s defence. Nunez also scored his second header of the match, making it 5-0 in Liverpool’s favour.
Salah added a sixth goal in the 83rd minute before Roberto Firmino sealed the deal with a late seventh goal. This was a truly terrific display by Liverpool and a dreadful performance by Manchester United. Man U who came into the game as favorites against Liverpool but failed to prove their worth.
