The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) is accepting applications for its 2026/2027 Local Scholarships. The programme covers both undergraduate and postgraduate studies taking place in Ghana. Applications open on Monday, 5th October, 2026.
The Local Scholarship is an opportunity for students pursuing tertiary education in Ghana to apply for financial support from the Ghana Education Trust Fund.
Undergraduate Local Scholarship
The undergraduate scholarship is open to students pursuing:
- Diploma programmes
- HND programmes
- Degree programmes
Postgraduate Local Scholarship
The postgraduate scholarship is available to applicants pursuing:
- Master’s programmes
- PhD programmes
Required Documents
Applicants should be prepared to provide:
- Completed online application form
- Admission letter from an accredited tertiary institution
- Academic transcripts and certificates
- National ID, such as a Ghana Card or passport
- Proof of financial need, where applicable
- Any other documents specified in the application guidelines
How to Apply For The Local Scholarships By GETFund
Applications for both scholarship categories must be submitted online through the Official GETFund Scholarship Portal.
Applicants should:
- Complete the online application form.
- Provide all required information.
- Upload scanned copies of the relevant supporting documents for vetting and shortlisting.
GETFund will contact shortlisted applicants after the vetting and shortlisting process.
Applications close: Friday, 27 November 2026

All official communication about the scholarship application will be directly between GETFund and the applicant.
Applications must be submitted only through the official GETFund Scholarship Portal. Applications sent through other channels will not be processed.
