Description:
They are currently seeking two Geography Ph.D. students to join the Department of Earth and Spatial Sciences at the University of Idaho. The focus of their research will be on studying human adaptation to climate change and understanding how people perceive this global issue. Applicants who are selected will have the opportunity to collaborate with a group of esteemed scientists from Idaho, Nevada, and South Carolina. This exciting opportunity is part of a 4-year project funded by the National Science Foundation.
The project aims to address the important issue of climate change adaptation in underserved rural communities, with a focus on local and place-based approaches. One Ph.D. student will specialise in remote sensing and spatial analysis of changing environments, while the second will specialise in climate science, modelling, and visualisations.
Required Specs:
- Interest and experience in research related to climate change and human adaptation.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.”
