Summary:
You will be responsible for guiding the news day, preparing and maintaining the daily newslog, liaising with the Executive Producer and Programme Editors, commissioning stories, assigning tasks to news teams worldwide, briefing correspondents and presenters, and coordinating satellite feeds.

Key Responsibilities:
- Read in and have an overview of international updates through all available sources
- Develop the Aljazeera English news agenda for the day with the Executive Producer
- Commission stories and assign tasks to the news teams around the world and rest of the news desk
- Review and re-write news scripts for packages, giving feedback to Reporters and Correspondents where appropriate
- Brief Reporters/Correspondents on story direction and developments
- Liaise with Executive Producer and Doha output team on coverage of live events and rolling news
- Brief presenters on interviews and live two-ways
- Deploy to the field as producer or News editor where appropriate
Key Requirements:
- A minimum of 10 years in a similar position is required.
- Experience running a large news desk operation is essential. Field news production experience is an asset.
- Knowledge in editorial and Journalism work standards & in the work flow or a large global news operation
