The role holder will manage the stores operations, ensuring the availability of spare parts and related items while optimizing inventory levels and reducing working capital.
In this role, you will support the objectives of the Group Spare Parts Program by maintaining maximum stock availability and reliability, while applying effective stock management techniques to reduce overall stock valuation. You will also ensure strict compliance with company procedures and foster seamless coordination between the Purchasing team and end users.

Key Responsibilities
As the Stores Head you will:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of all store functions and supervise warehouse personnel.
- Generate and manage the daily MRP (Material Requirements Planning) process by collaborating with Managers, Engineers, and Planners to ensure efficient spare parts inventory management.
- Process requisitions and place orders promptly to avoid both overstocking and stockouts.
- Ensure master data records accurately reflect agreed stock control levels established with Plant Management.
- Support daily, weekly, and shutdown maintenance planning by preparing and issuing spare parts for plant operations.
- Work closely with the Accounts team during scheduled physical stocktaking as directed by the Chief Accountant.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce on-site stock holding, aligned with group spare parts management strategies, including common stockkeeping.
- Provide monthly Group KPI reports to management in accordance with spare parts guidelines.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports on:
- Stock movements
- Pending requisitions
- Purchase orders
- Critical spare parts lists
- Ensure all spares are properly labelled with identification stickers, bin cards are updated, and shelves are clearly marked for easy traceability and accurate supply.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and ensure proper storage of spare parts.
- Ensure full compliance with group spare parts procedures and guidelines.
- Carry out additional duties assigned by the Maintenance Manager or Plant Manager.
- Follow all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality procedures in line with Heidelberg Materials’ Safety Policies and Guidelines.
- Actively participate in Health & Safety activities, programmes, and training sessions.
- Understand and comply with disciplinary measures related to Health & Safety violations to maintain a safe and secure workplace.
Requirements
Education / Qualification
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in:
- Engineering
- Purchasing and Supply
- Supply Chain Management
- Or an equivalent qualification
Experience
- At least five (5) years of relevant work experience in engineering or inventory management.
Skills & Attributes
- Highly organized and punctual.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including:

- PowerPoint
- SharePoint
- An excellent communicator with strong verbal and written communication skills.
