The Embassy of Denmark in Accra is seeking an ambitious person for its Trade Team and support Danish exports and investments opportunity in Ghana and West Africa, with a strong focus on water, environment, energy, and GPA. The mission is hiring a full time Commercial Adviser.
About the Role
You will work at the intersection of business, policy, and international trade, supporting Danish companies entering or expanding in Ghana and the region. The role involves market development, stakeholder engagement, and business facilitation, particularly in the water sector, a strategic priority for Denmark in Ghana.
You’ll be part of the Trade Council of Denmark and collaborate closely with regional colleagues across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored consultancy services to Danish companies (market research, partner search, stakeholder mapping, marketing support)
- Drive business development in water, environment, energy & GPA
- Identify and unlock concrete commercial opportunities
- Build and maintain strong networks across the public and private sectors
- Support public-private partnerships (PPPs) and policy dialogue
- Plan and execute company events, business delegations, and official visits
- Promote Ghanaian market opportunities to Danish companies (events, webinars, SoMe)
- Contribute to regional Trade Council projects and industry teams

Required Qualifications
- Degree in Business Development, Economics, International Marketing, MBA, or similar
- Strong commercial mindset with ability to engage government stakeholders
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
- Strong network in the Ghanaian business community
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proven international and cross-cultural work experience
- Results-oriented, able to work with KPIs and targets
- Full IT proficiency (Microsoft Office)
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to work both independently and in a team
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in water, environment, energy, or GPA sectors
- Experience or network in Côte d’Ivoire
- French language skills are an advantage
