Stella Seal calls Obaapa Christy rude and disrespectful

Veteran Gospel musician Stella Aba Seal has called W’asue Me crooner, Obaapa Christy rude and disrespectful over an interview the latter granted.

The “Wagye me” singer had earlier apologized to her senior colleague on Accra’s Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz for not telling her sooner.

She continued to give her justification, stating that she merely wished to honor and promote Stella Seal.

“I intended to pay tribute to certain seasoned musicians. Since I had already contacted the majority of the male musicians, who had already consented to these plans, it was just an oversight rather than the intention to bring them only for performances, she said.

Stella Seal was already agitated, but the passage in which Obaapa Christy referenced honoring and projecting Stella Seal infuriated her the most.

Stella also stated the apology Christy rendered was not a remorseful one because she can’t apologise while apportioning blame at the same time.

In the interview on Okay FM, Stella indicated she had not listened to Obaapa Christy’s interview well. She was therefore appalled by how the latter referred to her as ‘maame wei’ to wit, ‘this woman’ and among others. To Stella, Obaapa lacked proper upbringing, hence her usage of “afuom kasa”.

Stella Aba Seal claims that Christy used her name without permission on a flier for her upcoming concert.

“This goes to all stakeholders, pastors, bishops, archbishops, programme organizers, choirs, whoever you are. Do not put my picture on a flyer without my permission,” Stella warned.

“Imagine an old woman like myself laying the groundwork for you. I’ve already dissociated myself from the situation by admitting that I don’t know anything about it. I never said that her program was a scam. Akosombo will host a performance by the promoted Tagoe Sisters on the same day.

“For me, being included in a ticketed performance without my consent is insulting. You are cheating my lovers while stealing their money. Someone will go to the event on purpose just to hear my timeless songs, or the music of Daughters of Glorious Jesus and Tagoe Sisters.

“We older singers cater to a different audience, so try to picture them attending the performance and being upset not to recognize us. You deceived the public, and it will be a dent on me. I am expressing my own views. I, Yaa Henewaa, I don’t like that,” she fumed.
